About
Planning an event should not require managing eleven suppliers.
Semicircl is a managed marketplace for events across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. One brief in, curated packages back, one deposit, one point of contact.
Why this exists
The mechanics of organizing an event in Nashville have not changed much. You search, you shortlist, you email eleven businesses, you receive quotes in eleven formats over three weeks, and then you spend an evening building a spreadsheet to work out which one is actually cheaper. Two of them never reply. One replies after you have booked someone else.
None of that is anybody's fault. Venues and vendors are small businesses running events, not inbound sales teams. But it means the cost of planning an event is measured in evenings, and the result is usually a set of decisions made on incomplete information.
We do that part instead. You submit one structured brief. We take it to providers who actually fit, collect structured quotes, and assemble two or three complete packages that can be compared by reading rather than by decoding. You pick one, pay a single deposit, and every provider is confirmed at once.
What “managed” means
A directory hands you contact details and wishes you luck. A managed marketplace does the sourcing, presents the results consistently, holds the contract and payment relationship, and stays involved until the event happens.
In practice that means a person reads your brief. A person decides which eleven providers to approach and which to leave out. A person builds the packages, writes the explanation of why each one fits, and answers your questions in the thread. We are deliberately not trying to automate that yet — matching events to suppliers well is a judgment problem, and pretending otherwise produces worse results faster.
What we will not claim
- Real-time availability. We do not have it and neither does anyone else in this market. You request a date; providers confirm whether they can hold it.
- Instant fulfillment. Sourcing takes a couple of days because it involves people. We would rather tell you that than fake a progress bar.
- The cheapest price. We are not a reverse auction. We aim for the right provider at a fair price, with what is included stated clearly enough that you can judge it yourself.
- Exhaustive coverage. Our public listing is curated. There are good venues and vendors in Nashville that are not on it, some of whom we still source from directly.
Where we operate
Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro and Hendersonville, plus the neighborhoods in between. We launched in one market deliberately: knowing which room is actually step-free, which caterer can genuinely handle a sealed kosher meal and which December Fridays are already gone is local knowledge, and it does not transfer.
Who we are for
Corporate organizers who plan events alongside another job. Hosts putting together a fortieth or a rehearsal dinner. Nonprofits running a gala where every line has to be defensible to a board. We are not a wedding directory and we do not plan weddings — though we do the night before.
Principles
How we make decisions
Say the number
Prices are all-in. Assumptions are listed. If something might move, we say which way and by roughly how much.
Curate, do not enumerate
Two or three complete options beat ninety search results. Choosing is the work; we should do it.
Keep the record together
Quote, contract, payment and conversation in one place. It is what lets us actually help when something changes.
Never fake social proof
No invented testimonials, no fabricated booking counts, no awards we did not win. Reviews come only from completed bookings.
Be honest about limits
If a budget will not stretch, if a date is gone, if a venue is not step-free — we say so at the start.
Retain by being useful
We keep customers through convenience, coordination and support, not by hiding who our providers are.
